YCA seeks to rename the annual auditions in honor of Founder Susan Wadsworth
To recognize 58 years of tireless work helping young musicians and the unique vision she infused into this organization’s mission, YCA has officially established a campaign to name the annual auditions process in Susan Wadsworth’s honor.
The auditions represent the heart and soul of YCA. They take place each year over an intense four month period of time, and include over 100 applicants evaluated by a jury of highly accomplished artists. The criteria for winning a coveted place on the YCA roster are exceptional musicianship, virtuosity, individuality and promise.
In order to ensure that the auditions remain vital for years to come, the campaign to establish The Susan Wadsworth International Auditions seeks to raise $2,500,000 through new endowment bequests and donations. Thanks to the generosity of several Board members, YCA is already over halfway to that goal.
Susan Wadsworth founded YCA in 1961 with a passion to help young musicians. She has a deep love of the auditions and takes great pleasure in experiencing the incredible breadth of talent that emerges with each new generation.
Naming the auditions in Susan’s honor is the most powerful way to recognize her unparalleled contribution to this treasured art form.

• $150,000 - Final Auditions Jury Chair (2 to 3 such positions)
